The General Education Center held a workshop on July 4th 2018 with the theme of ‘Promoting Core GE Course through Teaching and Learning’. Associate Professor Liu Zhaohui from School of Public Affairs hosted the workshop with about 30 attendees of faculty members from different departments and they exchanged opinions based on their teaching experience.
Ms. Jin Juanqin, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Department first reviewed the exploration and practice of general education in ZJU and set forth its plan of development in the next step. After that, Associate Professor Liu Zhaohui shared his experience when being the teacher of some core GE courses. Liu analyzed the current status and problems existed in some courses from the research results of teachers and students. At the end of the workshop, a warm discussion was carried out among all the attendees by focusing on how to organize the courses of group discussion as well as to raise students’ enthusiasm and optimism in the class.
The General Education Center will continually hold workshops for faculty members to build up a platform for efficient and convenient communication.
