This summer, I was fortunate enough to be a member of the summer school of Stellenbosch University in South Africa. It was the first time I travelled alone, and my destination was South Africa, the southern hemisphere where I knew very little. Before I arrived, I was full of tension and longing. When I came to school, contacting with the students from all over the world, I felt very substantial every day. I fell in love with this school, the city.

My course was film and literature. It was a small class and we had a sofa in the classroom. Teacher Daniel was a humorous and knowledgeable gentleman, giving us chances to explore, to debate freely, to divergent thinking sparks. I was the only student whose native language wasn’t English, and my classmates helped me a lot. They were so nice and sincere. Thus I enjoyed the atmosphere where everyone cared about each other.

On weekends, we went to all the famous sights of South Africa, where the sky was very blue and the sea was wide. I miss it.
