法国巴黎综合理工学院(Ecole Polytechnique)建于1794年，目前在校的教师、科研人员、管理人员和学生达到 3200余名。该校在法国高等教育界享有很高的威望，在法国工程师大学校的排名中位居榜首：麻省理工学院和哥伦比亚大学认为它是法国最负盛名的工程师大学校。

《泰晤士报》中排在第34位；在上海交大的排名中位居第201位；根据上海交大的世界大学的学科排名，数学排在第51-57位，计算机和物理排在第151-200位
